The Public Information office seeks to inform the City's customers about the latest news regarding the many services and programs available. Through public information programs and media relations the Public Services Department fosters positive two-way communications with its customers.
The programs serve as tools to notify customers about new or existing developments within the Public Services Department and help keep the department abreast of its customers' concerns. The Water Plant Expansion Project, construction notices, public events, crisis communications, customer surveys, Neighborhood Task Force, public education programs, water conservation and community outreach initiatives are some of the topics addressed by public information campaigns.
Instruments for communication include newsletters, brochures, magazines, website, advertisements, direct mail, video and one-on-one communications. The public information office actively pursues partnerships with interrelated organizations and special interest groups to foster a heightened awareness of water related issues in our community. One such program was the WLRN Environmentally Speaking series where public services staff did guest appearances and spoke about water related issues.
